What a city this is..wonderful people, a complete Mexican flair, delicious food, sightseeing galore, every flavor of Margaritas that your little ol' heart could desire..and not to mention that not only is San Antonio a great tourist destination but also home to universities, a few military bases, unprecidented medical facilities and training locals... shopping, and of course a HUGE part of Texas history. ..and of course for you Longhorn fans out there located about an hour from Austin!!..and let us not forget that SA is home of the Spurs basketball team!! Join us on this visual tour through this marvelous local...from the EL Mercado..Market Square..aka..the Mexican Market, to the Alamo, the world famous Riverwalk..the Quarry..eating some yummy BBQ, sampling some of the adult beverages, celebrating an awesome graduation with family and friends..soaking in what is such
a large part of our lives as San Antonio has been a destination for Texas vacations in my life for as long as I can remember, my oldest friend and college roomate calls it home, along with a few other family members, my mom has lived there in the past,we have experienced great heartache here but also great joy... I have attended training there..as well as my youngest son also..accomplished things that I never thought I would in this city... met amazing people there..it is a place near and dear to me and to several others that I know. Enjoy this feast for the eyes full of color and love..and when in Texas do as the natives do and head down south to San Antonio!!..you may even be lucky enough to spot a dashhound dressed to the 9s!!..San Antonio style..
Welcome..to one of my..our..absolute favorite places in the world to be..Chattanooga, Tennessee..this is where I get to tell a story of how a woman from Texas and a man from Ostfriesland Germany meet completely by chance at Big River Grille..she out with friends to listen to live music and dance a little..he at a VW Christmas Party..2 completely different worlds crashed into each other and dispite the fact that she is fire and he water..they went through a whirlwind romance..took a tour of Ruby Falls, met for coffee at Panera Bread, went shopping on the North Shore, he learned what Valentine's Day is, discovered and awesome taxi driver named Victor, combined friends..made new ones..he took the youngest camping for a guy's only weekend, on a tour of the home of Jack Daniels Whiskey (not in Chattanooga by the way..)..they went hiking..made it through the tornado that destoyed Ringgold, GA without damage and then he said..."Marry me and move to Germany"..and hence..my wonderful readers..is how I ended up in Germany..but we are making plans to return to Chattanooga in 2016 if VW allows!!
Chattanooga is an amazing success story of a run down, dangerous downtown area that was turned into a paradise..it has everything from museums, to wonderful restaurants, to kitschy..interesting shops, coffee houses, the Chattanooga Aquarium is divided into 2 houses..one for salt water displays, the other for fresh. There is a glass walking bridge the connects the main part of downtown to the Art District..North Shore is nothing less than a shopper's dream..there are outdoor and historical places to explore without end, the people are super friendly..There are throughout the year music festivals, food festivals, The Chattanooga Market is not to be missed if you are into live music, good food, and amazing homemade craft items..This city is a MUST SEE..for anyone who wants an experience that is like no other..large enough to have everything you want or need but with that small town feel so that you don't get lost in the shuffle!!
Hello to you all..today takes us on a short tour of Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando...sites, sounds, and smells of different lands from all over the world..The Tree of Life was amazing..what a work of Art..and the big grey guy pctured below was nothing less than smug in front of the cameras..was a beautiful animal to watch!! Enjoy!!
Hi there..wanted to take you all on a visual tour of just a few of the images we collected in Disney's Hollywood Studio!! Now this was a fun few hours..rides such as the Haunted Mansion, Rock and Roll Rollercoaster, museums filled with the history and visions of Walt Disney himself, shops galore!! You name it..it was there..a feast for the eyes and senses!! Of course all would not be complete without Pluto my all time favorite Disney character..was happy to see him on top of a building here large and in charge!!Enjoy your tour..next stop Disney's Animal Kingdom!!
Hi there..now for images from the actual Universal Studios..images that we have seen in other places, or in films, magazines, etc.... Beverly Hills for example or the home of Homer..Springfeild..no, I am not a huge Simpsons fan but it was fun to see how many people really are!! The 50's Diner was amazing..made me wish for about the 600th time that I had been born early enough to experience this period in our history..to wear saddle shoes and poodle skirts, ride around in awesome cars and then go dancing with our guys after eating at a place just like this one!! Oh, I can only imagine..my parents are so lucky!! And of course while we there there was a colorful, music filled parade..fun stuff..you have to love a parade!! Okay..enjoy Universal..tomorrow we finish the Orlando leg of this trip and move onto Chattanooga, Tennessee..one of our all time favorite cities!!
